Respond Rwanda 2013
Since 1906 Urban Saints has been reaching out to children and young people with the good news of Jesus Christ. We are passionate about connecting with all children and young people, helping them to realize their full God- given potential as they journey from childhood to adulthood.
What we are doing
We will be based in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda. Urban Saints has developed a link with Scripture Union Rwanda over a number of years and teams went to Rwanda in 2006 and 2007.
We will be working with SU Rwanda, contributing to a holiday camp and schools work. There will also be visits to surrounding villages and their local churches to meet with families and experience first-hand the culture and lifestyles of the people of Rwanda. The young people will be actively involved in the facilitation of the activities while we are over there which will include areas where they possess certain talents and gifting’s. The terms of outcomes we aim to grow as individuals by serving and leading in ways out of our comfort zone. Working as a team is also important in order to support one another and work effectively while we in Rwanda. The finalised programme will reflect the makeup of the team and the particular needs of SU Rwanda at the time.
I will be taking a group of young people along with two other leaders, Phil Wray and Helen Moss, on July 15th until August 6th 2013. Any support would be greatly appreciated.
